Generation Z
Disciplined Focus
Out of the gate, the target audience was clearly set: Gen-Z. Understanding the unique aesthetics, voice, and needs of this generation became a core goal early on in our design and discovery phase. In our version one build, we took inspiration from linear progression games and online course websites such as Duolingo or Udemy to provide an educational campus. While this successfully reached thousands of devices around the world, we knew we could do better.
Redesigned With Care
Thoughtful Approach
For My Nota, we went back to the drawing board to design an app that truly spoke to the freedom Gen-Z values and the serendipitous discovery experience found on apps such as TikTok or YouTube. After several discovery and design brainstorming sessions, we landed on a non-linear mind-map style interface, heavily inspired by the aesthetics of National Park marketing. Users are able to access all content on day one, dialogue with AI-powered “guides” who answer questions for the user (and have been rigorously trained and vetted by qualified content moderators), and Trinity Fellowship Church is able to edit the content and view up-to-date analytics from their custom web dashboard.
“DSR has been so wonderful to work with. Their team is fun, incredibly talented, and just super sharp. I feel like they ’get’ us, which is something that is so incredibly hard to come by in partnerships like this. They are creative and able to think about the project's big picture, even as the minute details are being worked on. Can't say enough good things!”
